THE WAY YOU ARE

hot right? oh well, too bad he’s taken and of course we aren’t here to talk about you know. so, have you folks seen his new video, THE WAY YOU ARE? well, if you haven’t don’t worry its below, you know i”ll always hook you up whenever. here it is.

nice video huh, even the lyrics to the song seems to be pretty decent. he actually has something to say, something that has a meaning which means that the song speaks to you. DAREY has always been one of those very few african artists that really know what they are in terms of their music.

in case if you are wondering about profiling, don’t worry. we aren’t doing any profiling today. we are just talking about the song but of course profiling would come later.

the lyrics and the meaning of the song seem to be quite similar to that of BRUNO MARS’ JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. funny enough their titles are almost the same, the only difference happen to be the presence and absence of the word JUST. it is also pretty obvious that DAREY or BRUNO MARS could not have copied each other’s theme. it just happened to be a coincidence from the theme to the name downright to the release dates/period.

in my own opinion,i prefer this song more to Bruno’s strictly on the fact that it is more upbeat and fun. the dreamy concept used by Bruno Mars just refused to work for me. it was great with GRENADE but for JUST THE WAY YOU ARE…..hell no.

in the lyrics of this song THE WAY YOU ARE. he puts hints of pidgin english like in the side where he said

e no mean say, e go make me love you more

just gave the song that Nigerian edge it needed you know. that thing that makes it seem that he is very aware of his roots, if i should say that. this song also showed that you could talk about a very generic topic anytime you want because what really matters is how to talk about it and how you present it which to me is great. this song is so good that i can’t knock it down. this is a great song for dudes to sing or text (for boys that like to thief from songs) to stop fussing about their appearance and put that energy into something else.

on my SKANKMETER, i’d give this song a three and a half over five. i do have my reasons. its a brilliant song but is it evergreen to me…….i am yet to come to terms with that.

 

about the video…….nice, it did fit the song. the graphics were on point same as the choreography and the models. i didn’t feel anything missing. so on the video i’d say a four over five. beautiful and simple and tasteful.
